Sending Conditional Notifications By Signer

As of Legal Signing 3.0, you can now do some conditional sending of notifications based on the status of your Legal Signing workflows.

This feature is mostly intended to be used with notifications utilizing the “Ready for Signing” notification event that is triggered when a signer has reached their turn to participate in a signing workflow.

This allows you to send different Ready for Signing notifications to specific signers to serve them different content contextually that may better apply to their role in the process, rather than having a one email fits all approach that is always the same content for each signer.

With this you have a single option to choose from in the conditional logic rules for a Ready for Signing notification:

• Next Signer – This allows you to set a conditional logic rule based on who the next signer is/isn’t relative to the signer that just submitted the form. So if you had a three signer workflow and had an additional Ready for Signing notification set to Next Signer is Third Signer with notification content relevant to your third signer, that third signer will receive that notification when it is their turn to sign. In this setup, you’d also want your default Ready for Signing notification to have the opposite logic using an is not operator, which would serve that default notification to the first two signers and your other notification then goes to the third signer.
